Aiden's Christmas Tree

Aiden is really enjoying the Christmas season so far this year. We thought he would really enjoy having a little Christmas tree of his own in his room. We found one and got some small tree ornaments to let him decorate it. He had a blast and loves to have it turned on in his room. I am sure he will be in heaven when we decorate the rest of the house this coming weekend!

Build-A-Bear

After visiting Santa, we decided to take Aiden to Build-A-Bear just like last year. He picked a really soft puppy dog and wasn't scared of the stuffing machine this year. He even enjoyed "washing" the dog once it was all stuffed and ready to go. We got a red jingle collar and santa hat to complete Fuzzy's outfit!

Santa came to the mall last weekend and we decided to try it after we finished our new family pictures. Aiden seemed really excited about seeing him this year, but I was expecting tears once the time finally came. He did fabulous and answered all of Santa's questions!

The results are in....

Aiden's biopsy came back clean. It showed only reflux, so we are staying on the medication for the time being.

Disney On Ice

Aiden is absolutely in love with Toy Story right now. I heard about Toy Story 3 on Ice coming to Hershey and we decided to get tickets. I was nervous about whether or not Aiden would sit still for the entire show, but he did surprisingly well. We had great seats that were three rows up from the ice and on the end of the row. The show was cute and the costumes were awesome. Aiden was getting a little impatient towards the end of the first half, because we still hadn't seen Lotso. The beginning of the show was like a recap of Toy Story 1&2 and after intermission is when the toys got sent to Sunnyside and we got to see Lotso. Of course you can't go to Disney On Ice and not get a light up toy, so he got the spinning light up Buzz Lightyear.

Aiden's EGD

Last Tuesday morning Aiden had an EGD done. He should have grown out of reflux between 18-24 months. We tried to wean him off medication three different times, but the symptoms always came back. Our pediatrician decided it was time for us to take him back to the pediatric gastroenterologist. So, we took him back to see Dr. Devenyi and he decided we should scope him (EGD) to see what was going on. Since Aiden had the milk protein intolerance when he was little, Dr. Devenyi was worried that the symptoms might actually be caused from Eosinophillic Esophagitis (EE) and not from reflux. If it were to be EE, that would most likely mean Aiden had food allergies and we would need to do further testing to find out what was causing the problem.

Aiden did awesome the morning of the procedure and did everything the nurses and doctors asked without crying. They gave him a medication called Versed that made him real goofy and helped him to go back to the OR without getting upset. He took a ride back to the OR in a wagon covered with his new Toy Story blanket and I was sent to the waiting room. About 20 minutes later Dr. Devenyi came out and said that everything looked ok and he didn't see any signs of EE, but we will have to wait a week for the biopsy results to be sure. Aiden woke up well and wanted to go home, but not without stopping at the waterfall/fountain that he saw on the way in!

Trick-or-Treat

We always have trick-or-treat the Thursday before Halloween in our town. We lucked out and the weather was gorgeous this year. Aiden was very excited about his first year of trick-or-treating, so when he woke up from his nap we waited in the front yard for Daddy to get home. After dinner, he got dressed in his puppy dog (Slinky Dog per Aiden) costume and we headed outside. He was hesitant at the first house, so I carried him to the front door and helped him out. After the first house he was off with no fear. He loved seeing all the different pumpkins people had out as decorations (especially the electronic one that talked). After we finished the neighborhood, he got to open Mimi and PaPa's special Halloween bucket. It was full of craisens, fruit snacks, goldfish, books, stickers and other fun surprises!
