Wildwood, NJ--Splash Zone

After we checked out Monday morning we went to Splash Zone, which is a water park on the boardwalk. They a great deal that included parking, a pancake breakfast, endless fountain drinks and pizza for lunch. It was actually a lot of fun and we would definitely go there again. Aiden had a blast on the big water slides. They had these great two person tubes that had a bottom on the front part of the tube for smaller children. I think Aiden went down at least 6 times, and would have gone more if we wouldn't have been so tired from carrying him and the big tube up a million steps. He loves the water and we were so proud of him for being so brave the whole weekend. He wasn't afraid of anything and was going down the little water slides by himself by the end of the day. It was a wonderful vacation and we all wish it wouldn't have had to end so soon!

Wildwood, NJ--The Boardwalk

Aiden loved the sites, the tram, the seagulls, and especially the rides on the boardwalk. We were a little bummed that he had to be 36 inches to ride a good deal of the rides, and needless to say he is only 35 inches. A lot of them were very similar to Hersheypark rides that he can ride at his current height, and he was really bummed that he couldn't ride the beach version of HP's Frog Hopper. He did have a blast on all the other rides though, especially the mini race car whip.

Wildwood, NJ--The Beach

On Friday after Brian and I got off work, we all headed to Wildwood for a long weekend. My parents came along and we got a two bedroom suite at the Montego Bay Resort on the boardwalk. This was the only hotel that had that particular kind of room available on short notice, and it ended up being a pretty nice hotel. We stayed three nights and checked out Monday morning. I think this is the first time in a long time that I had such nice weather for the entire vacation. It was hot and humid at the beach with some wind and we loved every minute of it! The only rain we got was Sunday night while we were getting ready and during dinner. Aiden loved the beach this year and we basically had to pry him out of the ocean! We are definitely going to do a whole week next year.

Hands On House

Since Aiden had steri-strips above his eye, the doctor said he wasn't allowed to get it wet for 5 days. We usually go to the pool if it's nice out on my days off, but since that was out I racked my brain to think of something different. I remembered hearing about the Hands On House in Lancaster and decided to give that a try. It was pretty full when we got there, but thinned out after about a half hour. Aiden had fun, but I think I was expecting more. I want to take him to the Please Touch Museum in Philly sometime soon, because I heard that is really nice.

Dermabond and Steri-strips

Aiden fell two weeks ago and cut his eyebrow on a toy. The wound didn't want to stop bleeding, so we took him to the ER to be examined. No stitches needed, just some Dermabond and steri-strips. It was right around bedtime and the ER visit wasn't real quick, but Aiden was a trooper!

July 4th 2010

We went to Valley Beach (a local pool) in the afternoon on July 4th, because they were going to be having their annual games for kids. The water in the big pool was extremely cold for some reason, but the baby pool was nice. The first game Aiden participated in was the candy scramble. I am not sure if he really understood what was going on, but he did well. I held the bag for him and tried to direct him towards the candy that he could eat. The second game was a coin scramble in the baby pool. I think he picked up about $0.80 worth of coins that he fed to his piggy bank when we got home. After a nap, we headed to my Nan & Pap's house for a cookout. It was kinda hot out and Aiden was a sweaty mess. He enjoyed the fountain they had in their yard and was pretty soaked after playing with it. We ended the night with a quick swim at my parents house to cool off and then watched fireworks from their front yard.
