I like them now!

Aiden has been doing much better taking the cereal and we even tried some bananas and peas. We thought everything was going well, but the last two days he just seems to have been having a stomach ache. After talking with the doctor today we found out that the rice cereal may be causing the problem since he has the milk protein intolerance, and peas are soy based so they might also be a problem. Now we have to wait a few days for him to get back to normal and then just do fruits and veggies and wait on the cereal. This poor little guy....I hope he is able to grow out of this stomach trouble.

Aiden's first Christmas

4 months

Well it's hard to believe, but Aiden turned 4 months old yesterday. We went to the doctor today for his check-up and shots. He is growing well.... 12 lbs. 12 oz. (10th percentile) and 25 inches long (50th percentile). He seems to be doing much better with his new formula, but has still been having some trouble with his reflux. His doctor doubled his dose of prilosec last Friday and said we should see a big difference by next week. He is enjoying tummy-time a little more these days and is getting better at sitting by himself in his Bumbo chair. Yesterday he rolled over on his own (we got it on video, but I have no idea how to put that on here!) We also tried rice cereal today and you will be able to draw your own conclusions by the picture below as to whether he liked it or not.

Christmas outfit

This is Aiden's Christmas outfit that he got from Aunt Dori and Gran. We can't wait to show them what he looks like in it on Saturday!




P.S. We had to do a second photo shoot when Dad got home so Aiden would smile, therefore the red pants aren't part of the outfit (they were just what he had on). There is a very cute pair of khaki pants with a plaid cuff that matches the shirt.

Thanks Grandpa!

I was looking for a small rocking chair so I could take pictures of Aiden in front of the Christmas tree, and luckily my dad still had his from when he was a boy. These are a few shots of Aiden kicking back in his "new" chair. I will get some at a later date in his Christmas outfit.

Santa Claus

Today we went to the mall to finish up Christmas shopping, and we decided to take Aiden along so he could sit on Santa's lap. There were about 8 million people at the mall, but we had a great time. Aiden was a champ and did amazing all day! The Santa display is done real well with a Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer theme. The line was kind of long, but moved at a pretty good pace. We are looking forward to our first Christmas with Aiden.

Catch Up

I am sorry that I haven't updated this in about a month, but it has been a rough couple of weeks here in the Reif house. We are on the 4th formula for Aiden now and this one we have to get special order through the mail. Apparently he has an intolerance to the milk protein and it got so bad that he would scream and cry each time he ate. It was awful and I just felt so helpless, because there was no quick fix to make him better. After 3 weeks on this new formula, I am pleased to say that he is doing so much better. He is pretty much back to the happy-go-lucky Aiden that we had prior to all his stomach troubles. He is up to 11 lbs. 12 oz. and he is so much more interactive. He coos a lot and LOVES his hands and fingers, he also drools so much that he requires a bib practically 24/7. His neck muscles are getting stronger and he is doing so good at starting to hold his head up on his own. It is just amazing to watch him learn and grow! I added a bunch of pictures since I was delinquent the last few weeks.

Happy Thanksgiving

Aiden enjoyed his first Thanksgiving this year! We went to my parents house for turkey and he was nice enough to nap while we ate dinner. After his bath I headed to NJ for some Black Friday shopping with the girls and Aiden stayed home with Brian. They had fun together and I finished most of my Christmas shopping in one day. All in all it was a great weekend!
